Welcome to the first edition of BCSEA’s monthly newsletter, launched to keep you up to date and informed about our work to promote sustainable energy in BC.
Last month, the Board appointed a new Executive Director, and we’re busy making plans to sharpen our focus on making renewable energy and energy conservation accessible to all British Columbians. Of course, our day-to-day work continues, including participating in the City of Vancouver’s Renewable City stakeholder engagement process, submitting comments on the Ministry of Environment’s intentions paper on GHG offset regulations and the BC Government’s Climate Leadership Plan, hosting six events around the province later this month (including federal election candidates debates), with more to be announced, and helping our partner Earth Day Canada collect signatures for the Earth Flag, to show the world that BC cares about renewable energy and energy conservation.
The BC Government is asking for British Columbians’ comments on climate action by August 17th. Called the Climate Leadership Plan, this is Premier Christy Clark’s first major testing of the waters of public opinion on climate change.
