Real climate action = No pipelines.

Friends,

The federal government is seriously underestimating how much people in this country care about ambitious climate action. Throughout their national climate consultation process, MPs have announced townhalls last minute, booked low-capacity venues, and tried to avoid talking about some of the most important climate questions in Canada, like how much fossil fuel we need to keep in the ground.

Nevertheless, overwhelmingly, townhalls have been packed. People have shown up in massive numbers despite the short notice -- and there’s a clear consensus every time for transitioning away from fossil fuels towards a justice-based 100% renewable energy economy.

You can join thousands across the country, by signing up to speak up for the ‘People’s Climate Plan’ at a government climate townhall in your community. Click here to find a townhall near you.
Earlier this summer, I joined hundreds of others in my community of Winnipeg for a climate townhall hosted by the Environmental Minister, Catherine McKenna. It was clear everyone in the packed room was ready for real action. At one point, a participant asked everyone who wanted to “stop the Energy East pipeline” to stand up -- every single participant was on their feet.

Clearly, after a decade of the Harper government -- people are ready to see Canada become a champion for real climate action and Indigenous rights on the global stage. Let’s hold them accountable to that -- click here to RSVP to a climate townhall near you.

In respect and peace,

Clayton Thomas-Muller
