We’re less than four months away from a federal election
that could change Canadian public health care
forever.
Lack of federal leadership on public health care has brought our system to a breaking point. It’s hard for many of us to get a family doctor. The Conservative government plans to cut 36 billion dollars from health care starting in 2017 [1]. The current federal government refuses to negotiate a new health agreement with the provinces [2], and Dr. Brian Day is trying to bring US-style care... to Canada via the courts [3]. If things continue as they are, it’s clear Canadian Health Care as we know it could disappear in the next 10-15 years.
But, if enough of us pledge to vote for public
health care, we can elect a federal government that is fully
committed to protecting and strengthening public health care in
2015.
Will you pledge to vote for public health care in this
election now?
As a growing number of people pledge to vote on health
care, we’ll be able to push the federal parties to make health care a
priority in the 2015 election.
At the same time, we’ll
mobilize people who care about health care to get to the polls and
vote.
Closer to the election we’ll report back to you, and
everyone who signs the pledge, with an election guide showing
where each of the federal parties stands on key health care
issues.
Please make sure the federal parties know you want to see strong action to strengthen Canada’s most treasured service. Pledge to vote for public health care in 2015.
Thank you for helping to make public health care a priority in the federal election,
