The Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (ELCA) voted to implement an investment screen restricting
church investments in corporations that profit from human rights
abuses, including those against Palestinians. In doing so, they join
eight other denominations that have economically aligned their actions
with their principles.
We congratulate
Isaiah
58, a group of concerned ELCA members who support justice for
Palestinians and were the driving force behind this motion. We look
forward to working with them and other allies to continue to align our
faith with our actions. In addition to this investment screen, the
ECLA voted to ask the U.S. government to end aid to Israel until it
ceases all settlement creation.
