Paov, let's converge this summer!

*|FNAME|*, let's converge this summer!  r1 ...

Join us at the Walbran Convergence on
July 29-30!

Dear Paov,

It’s the middle of the summer, and at the Wilderness Committee, that means it’s time to get out in the forest.

Among the trips and events happening this summer, we’re most excited about the 4th Annual Walbran Convergence! July 29-30.

Will you join us? More than hundred people will gather in the Central Walbran Valley in the unceded territory of the Pacheedaht Nation to celebrate the first wave of community activism that began 24 years ago this summer and saw the Valley protected from destruction.

If you can’t make the Convergence but want to help us make it a success, please donate here!

In between guided hikes, a community meal (salmon dinner), dips in the Emerald Pool and exploring the Castle Grove we’ll hear Indigenous leaders, forest sector union leaders, elected officials, biologists and other experts at this “Building Unity” themed Convergence!

What: Weekend of workshops, guest speakers, hikes, community dinner and optional camping.
When: July 29 (opening ceremony at 1:30 p.m.) - July 30
Where: The unprotected Central Walbran Valley (unceded Pacheedaht Territory)

This weekend is always an inspiring and powerful event and is sure to be one of the highlights of your summer.

We’re working with the other Convergence organizers to make the event as accessible as possible. We’ll have return day-trip transportation on the Community Action Bus on Saturday. Check the Facebook event for carpooling and other rideshare options.

Dinner: You can purchase dinner and bus tickets at Wildfire Bakery or online here.

Volunteering: If you’re interested in volunteering at this event, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Convergence is an opportunity for people to come together in one of Canada’s most spectacular ancient rainforests and discuss how to better manage these incredible ecosystems and build a truly sustainable forest industry – I hope to see you in Walbran for this epic time!

For the ancient rainforest.
