A,

There’s one week left until PepsiCo’s big annual shareholder meeting -- and it’s already feeling the heat to stop using dirty palm oil in its Cheetos, Doritos, and Quaker products.

None of this would be possible without the work of the SumOfUs community and its partners.

Last week, we had hundreds of members submit photos to our tumblr to show solidarity with exploited workers on palm oil plantations. It’s a spectacular display of how diverse and passionate our movement is.

And our brand-jamming against Cheetos even got the attention of CNN (link below)! But we need to keep the momentum going so the issue is at the forefront of investors’ minds as they go into the shareholder meeting.

Starting right now, we need you to join our online Twitter storm, which we’re doing with our friends at the Rainforest Action Network. Will you help pile on the pressure to PepsiCo?

Over six months after the release of its new palm oil policy, PepsiCo still hasn’t cleaned up its supply chain. Products like Doritos, Cheetos, and other chips, nuts, and baked goods, still contain conflict palm oil.

Workers on palm oil plantations in Indonesia, many of them children, are still enduring dangerous work conditions on little pay. The habitats of endangered orangutans, tigers, and elephants are still be destroyed. And Indonesia continues to burn, as pristine rainforest is cleared for more and more palm oil.

Through this Twitter storm, we’re making sure that PepsiCo can’t shirk its responsibility any more.

Already, hundreds of thousands of SumOfUs members have stood together to force PepsiCo to do the right thing. PepsiCo responded with a new palm oil policy, but it doesn’t go far enough.

Will you help push PepsiCo to take the next step? Join the online Twitter storm and stop PepsiCo’s use of conflict palm oil now.
